About Dr Nathan Dr Nathan became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 1994 after graduating from the Northwick Park Hospital General Practice Vocational Training Scheme. He then worked as an NHS General Practitioner in local practices before becoming a partner in a group-teaching practice in Edgware where he worked for 10 years. After graduation from University College and Middlesex School of Medicine in 1990, Dr Nathan completed pre-registration House Jobs in cardiology, general medicine and care of the elderly at Edgware General Hospital, and general surgery, urology and orthopaedics at the North Middlesex Hospital. He was awarded the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) in 1992. Dr Nathan is also a lecturer, medical student tutor and examiner at the Royal Free and University College Medical School (RF&UCMS). He has been awarded Distinguished Teacher as voted for by the students and has achieved the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), recognised across the Higher Education sector as evidence of expertise and commitment to enhancing and supporting the student learning experience. He has been an individual winner of the RF&UCMS Excellence in Medical Education Awards (EMEA), which recognise exceptional contribution to education in the MBBS programme, as this link shows http://www.ucl.ac.uk/medicalschool/news/latest/newsitem.shtml?2008081801As a fully accredited member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society, having been awarded their Diploma in Medical Acupuncture (DipMedAc), he is recognised by many private health insurers, including BUPA, PPP, WPA andStandard Life. He is now an examiner of applicants for the BMAS' DipMedAc. He still works as a part-time General Practitioner in Harrow and is also an acupuncturist for a local cancer charity, treating patients and their relatives for cancer and non-cancer related conditions.
